ಒಂದು ಮಗುವಿನ ಬದುಕಿನ ಮೊದಲ 1,000 ದಿನಗಳ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪೌಷ್ಟಿಕಾಂಶದ ಪಾತ್ರ ಮಹತ್ತರವಾದದ್ದು
ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಪೌಷ್ಟಿಕಾಂಶ ಲಭಿಸದಿದ್ದರೆ ಮೆದುಳಿನ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯು ನಿಧಾನವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಒಟ್ಟಾರೆ ದೈಹಿಕ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯು ಕುಂಠಿತಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ, ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿ ತಲುಪಲು ದುಸ್ತರವಾದ ಹಳ್ಳಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಏಳು ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳಿಂದ ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಅಪೌಷ್ಟಿಕತೆಗೆ ತುತ್ತಾಗುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚು. ಈ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ʼಟೇಕ್‌ ಹೋಮ್‌ ರೇಷನ್‌ʼ (ಟಿಎಚ್‌ಆರ್‌), ರೋಗನಿರೋಧಕ ಲಸಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸೇವೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಲು ಅರ್ಹರಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಸಹ, ಅನೇಕ ಕಾರಣಗಳಿಂದ ಅವರು ಈ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಕಾರಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖವಾದುವು ಎಂದರೆ ಭೌಗೋಳಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಮೂಲಸೌಕರ್ಯಗಳ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಆರೈಕೆದಾರರಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ಅರಿವಿನ ಕೊರತೆ.
ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಈ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಪೋಷಕರು ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವಾಗ ಅವರನ್ನು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮಕ್ಕಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅಥವಾ ಅಜ್ಜ-ಅಜ್ಜಿಯ ಜೊತೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇದು ಮಗುವಿಗೆ ಅವಶ್ಯವಿರುವ ಪೌಷ್ಟಿಕಾಂಶದ ಲಭ್ಯತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ವ್ಯತಿರಿಕ್ತ ಪರಿಣಾಮವನ್ನು ಬೀರುತ್ತದೆ.
Keeping the above factors in mind, the Azim Premji Foundation launched creches that seeks to improve the nutritional status of very vulnerable children in the age group of seven months to three years. The key objectives of this initiative include:
- ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳು ಸಿಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವುದು.
- ಪ್ರತಿ ದಿನವೂ, ಒಂದು ಮೊಟ್ಟೆ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ, ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮೂರು ಹೊತ್ತು ಪೌಷ್ಟಿಕ ಆಹಾರ ನೀಡುವುದು.
- ಹೆಲ್ತ್‌ ರೆಫರಲ್‌ ಮತ್ತು ನಿರಂತರ ಅನುಸರಣೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಅಪೌಷ್ಟಿಕತೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ, ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅವಶ್ಯವಿರುವ ಸೇವೆಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುವುದು.
Currently,more than 1,700 such creches are operational across the 7 states of Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Odisha. More than 30,000 children are enrolled in these creches. This initiative is being implemented in partnership with 50 civil society organisations.

ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಕಡಿಮೆ ತೂಕ ಇರುವ ಮತ್ತು ಬಹಳ ತೆಳ್ಳಗಿರುವ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನುಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಆರೈಕೆಗಾಗಿ ಗ್ರಾಮ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ನೈರ್ಮಲ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಪೋಷಣೆ ಕೇಂದ್ರ, ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಅಥವಾ ಪೋಷಣೆ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಕಡಿಮೆ ತೂಕ ಇರುವ ಮತ್ತು ಬಹಳ ತೆಳ್ಳಗಿರುವ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಹಸಿವಿನ ಮಟ್ಟವನ್ನು ಆಧರಿಸಿ, ಆಗಾಗ್ಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪೂರಕ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
